Book Review

Just finished reading the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy. Have to say that while I enjoyed it, I expected more. After all the hype of how smutty it was, I was kinda let down. Don't get me wrong my friends, there's sex and kinky fuckery galore, but I was expecting Anne Rice, NOT Harlequin Romance. Of course after hearing that the author was only inspired to write after reading Twilight I should have figured that it would be as it was. I will also admit though that her writing style was better than Meyer's, except her use of the word "baby" that I found utterly distracting. Throughout the storyline, I found myself talking to the characters, gasping for air at the steamier bits, laughing, crying, wanting to through the book. (but didn't because I was reading them Kindle style on the old iPhone, LoL) In my opinion, this is what makes a good story, when it inspires the reader to react to it... At then end of the series she's added a brief snippet of the story from Christian's perspective (ala Midnight Sun from Stephanie Meyer) I really hope that she continues this story line!! Evidently the movie rights have already been bought, I'm thoroughly excited to see how they translate the series. (Surely there is no way that these can be rated anything less than an R.) I've read rumors that Ian Somerhalder is wanting to portray Christian Grey, I think that this part was probably written with this Adonis in mind! Not sure who any of the other characters should be, with the excepting of anyone EXCEPT Kristen Stewart for Ana!!! Overall I give this series a 3 1/2 stars out of 5---Definitely will read it again, and soon ;)
